Honza Weber journey of a Footbag and Freestyle Football champion
Still known as Jan Weber, Honza Weber is a Czech sportsman who has distinguished himself in several fields. Born on August 28, 1986, he was several times European and world champion in footbag and freestyle football.
Having obtained his master's degree at the University of Economics in Prague, a few years later he became one of the greatest professional freestylers. He started playing footbag in 2001. In 2002, when the discipline was booming, he participated in nearly 200 professional events. He also had the opportunity to perform at around 2000 public events, which did not fail to increase his notoriety. Honza Weber has more than twenty trophies to his credit, including his 4 world championship titles in doubles Freestyle Footbag as well as his 3 world championship titles in singles won consecutively in 2011, 2012 and 2013.
In 2010, the Czech athlete started doing Freestyle football. He was even part of the team that organized the first annual European Freestyle Football which was held in 2010 as well as the first ever Freestyle Football World Championships which all took place in the capital of Czechoslovakia (Prague). in 2011 and 2012.
In one of the events called "Sick3", he finished in 5th place at both world championships. He won the same event at the Czech Football Freestyle which took place in 2012 and the Czech Cup in 2013 and 2015.
In 2010, Weber participated in a TV show in his country called “Talentmania” . There he qualified for the semi-finals where he performed an exceptional routine. In the following year, he appeared in ' 'Czech Got Talent'' , a show which reveals Czech talents. He was in a duet with Václav Klouda, his Freestyle Footbag doubles teammate. Both produced major performances, which earned them progression in the competition.
A year later in 2012, he performed at the same show, but this time with his Freestyle troupe known as the "Freestyle Union" . With this same team, he won the University of Prague talent show at the end of 2011 in the disciplines of yo-yo, Freestyle frisbee, footbag and Freestyle football. A little earlier in the same year, he was crowned Czech and Slovak champion of the first edition of the Skittling championship.
The multiple footbag world champion holds around twenty freestyle records both nationally and globally.
He has also distinguished himself in numerous extra-sporting activities. In this regard, he was the official face of the TIKI-TAKA campaign organized by Cruyff Classics , a sports clothing line dedicated to Dutch football legend Johan Cruyff. In 2015 we found him in a Nissan "Truckerball" advertisement for the UEFA Champions League. His abilities as a Freestyler have landed him several roles in commercials where he dexterously performs freestyle moves using mundane objects such as candies, tangerines, cell phones, tennis balls, etc.
